Designed the core user flow of a taxi app: from finding a car to rating a completed ride. Built a clean screen structure so that at every stage of the trip the user clearly understands the status of their order.
The task
The challenge was to design a web interface for a taxi ordering service as part of a under a tight deadline: components from scratch, auto layouts, logic for the main screen. I went beyond the brief and worked out the entire flow — from the main screen all the way through to ride completion.
Core user flow
Main screen
Order panel on the left, map on the right. Geolocation is detected automatically — approximate fare prices are visible even before an address is entered.
Route input
Before typing — quick actions: pin a point on the map or choose a saved address. Once you start typing, address suggestions come to the foreground and quick actions move down.
Trip setup
After selecting addresses — a composed order summary: route, fares, payment, bonuses, and price. The route is displayed on the map so you can visually verify the stops.
Multiple fares can be selected simultaneously. The price is shown as a range — the final cost depends on which driver accepts the order first.
Searching for a driver
A status bar shows that a search is in progress. The order collapses to its key parameters. The starting point is locked — the search has already begun — but the destination and stops can still be changed. The cancel button is accessible but does not compete for attention.
Driver found
Focus shifts to the driver and arrival time. A card with name, rating, car, and plate number. Quick actions — call or message. Addresses are locked, the price range resolves to a final figure.
En route
The status bar shows time remaining; the map tracks the car. All key information stays in the panel. At the bottom — a "Report an issue" button: unobtrusive but accessible.
Ride completion
I kept only the essentials here: driver info, trip cost, rating, a comment field, and a submit-review button. Users can skip and start a new trip right away.
Conclusion
The project was completed as part of a technical assignment with a tight deadline. I went beyond the basic scope and worked through the full ride flow, from the first screen to order completion.
